The Lake House, by Kate Morton

Didn’t care for it. It’s two murder mysteries complicated by a horror story. And it jumps back and forth in time. That’s not necessarily a problem, but with so many characters, it was too confusing.

A homicide detective takes a break from a murder case, and takes a vacation, where a mysterious house sits next to a lake. While there with family, she becomes involved with an unsolved case where a local boy has been missing for years. Of course, she has to look into that one, too. It’s a great setup for a story, but it bogs down eventually, and I quit half way through.
