Sapiens

An overview of man’s development, from the first humans to current day. There were originally multiple sapiens species like Neandertal, Asian, etc. but Homo Sapiens turned out to be the sole survivor. The author places more emphasis on early man, with mostly his views and philosophy on periods like the Agricultural Revolution and the Scientific age.

He injects his view on why events turned out the way they did: for instance, he posits the Agricultural Revolution was not totally beneficial to mankind, as it trapped them into working more hours, locked them into a limited food type, and robbed them of multiple food sources.
