Janet’s books are pretty predictable, not that you can solve the mystery easily, but the interaction between Steph and Ranger, for example, is always the same. And way too much of it. But Lula is always unpredictable and she was laugh out loud in this one.
Lula decides to become a barbecue expert overnight, unsuccessfully, of course, and takes some mean hits about her appetite (and weight problems) in the process.
This is the type of book that defines “light reading,” and I picked it specifically for a road trip with my hot wife. It was perfect entertainment.
Audio books are usually too long for one trip, unless you’re traveling through multiple states, so I wanted a book that was about 6 hours long for a trip to West Virginia, and the length on this one was just right. We both really enjoyed it.
