Wonderful story–crazy, but very engaging. Two kids from a small town on an island in the middle of nowhere decide to run away from home. A simple theme, but the kids are very much on the quirky side, kind of like Napoleon Dynamite. And the characters that make up the respective parents are just loony–but in a funny way. Bill Murray is one of the dads and Ed Norton is the scout leader of a boy scout camp that the boy has run away from. Two scenes come to mind: when the boy is found to be missing from camp, the local sheriff (Bruce Willis) calls the boy’s parents, only to be told they don’t want him any more; Norton sits down for breakfast at the camp table, and after a couple of minutes looks up to realize the entire camp is deserted (they’ve all gone looking for the boy). I was laughing out loud almost the whole movie. The humor is very Bill Murray type, so if you don’t like Saturday Night Live, you may not like it. But I think you will.
